Say the name Mark Cuban to any sports fan and you'll hear he's the loudmouth owner of the Dallas Mavericks. He's the John McEnroe of NBA owners, complaining about officiating. He made his fortune through the dot com bubble, and now he has a team. He's the most visible owner in the NBA, by far.
Cuban made his fortune in the dot com era and thus he knows something about the computing industry. Indeed, he blogs about it. His topics include some basketball, some stuff about sportswriters, but he also comments frequently about the web economy, making it fascinating to follow even for people who don't care anything about basketball.
The amazing thing is when he finds the time to blog so regularly. Presumably, being a wealthy owner opens up time, as he may or may not have a regular job. I was going to say that he's the only owner in the NBA that's as savvy in a second area, but I forgot that Paul Allen, former cofounder of Microsoft owns the Portland Trailblazers, but he keeps a very low profile. You rarely hear his name in the news, where Cuban seems to relish the limelight.
Take a look at the blog. It's worth a few minutes to hear his ideas.
